Overview

Performs a variety of routine maintenance procedures on common breakdowns to meet established standards for the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the distribution center and grounds.

 

  • $2,000 Sign-on Bonus
  • $24-$26 Per hour (based on experience)
  • Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  1. Performs a variety of maintenance duties and tasks to maintain distribution center buildings and grounds and to meet GSF and AIB standards for appearance, cleanliness, and safety. (45%)
  1. Survey building, and repair mechanical systems such as (forklift/pallet jack batteries watering) to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards. (5%)
  1. Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.). (5%)
  1. Assist in the ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary. (5%)
  1. Maintains air conditioning/heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality comfortable working environment. (5%)
  1. Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed. (5%)
  1. Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.) Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices. (5%)
  1. Undertake activities of pest control such as inspecting traps (5%)
  1. Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.). (5%)
  1. Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other system repairs to maintain working condition of racking, doors, and dock levelers. (5%)
  1. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods as a maintenance technician. Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills. (5%)
  2. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary. (5%)

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Education and experience equivalent to:

 

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or equivalency

 

Experience:

3+ years of relevant work experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):

  • AIB standards (B)
  • Battery changing and charging procedures (B)
  • Sanitation and janitorial concepts and techniques (B)
  • Air conditioning equipment (B)
  • Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (E)
  • Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus (E)

Skill and ability to:

  • Climb, crawl, squat, kneel, reach, or twist
  • Lift, push, pull, or carry objects over 25 pounds
  • Communicate verbally
  • Follow verbal and written instructions
  • Identify problems or irregularities for early resolution
  • Work effectively in a general business environment, with a focus on high levels of quality and customer service
