Overview

Position Summary (Job Description):

 

Receives, selects, stores and loads products and/or materials.  Safely operates all material handling equipment.  Accurately completes all associated paper work.  Maintains clean work area consistent with company standards.

 

  • 6AM start time
  • Monday - Friday 
  • $18/HR

Responsibilities

General Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the warehouse supervisor, is responsible for visually inspecting incoming and outgoing warehouse products to determine acceptability for shipment and/or receiving of product.  Read labels and or printing on product containers and associated documents.  Counts and calculates quantity of product to verify accuracy of shipment.  On a repetitive basis moves, lifts, carries and places product into a trailer, on a pallet or in storage in a non-controlled or temperature controlled environment.  Steps into the driving position and uses full range of peripheral vision to operate a forklift or pallet jack in an accident free manner.  Uses brooms, mops and other cleaning materials (including solvents and soaps) to clean work area.  Completes any other functions that may be assigned and misses no more than 6 days a year of work.

**     20 % Inspects incoming and outgoing product

**     20 % Reads labels and associated documents and counts and calculates using math

**     20 % Lifts, carries and picks product up to one hundred pounds to above shoulder level and to heights of over seven                        feet

**     15 % Operates forklift and pallet jack

          10 % Cleans work area

          15 % Completes any other function that may be assigned

    Sit - rarely - up to 10% of the time

**Bend - frequently - up to 95% of the time

**Kneeling - rarely - up to 10% of the time

**Crouching - occasionally - up to 20%

    Crawl - rarely - up to 5% of the time

**Twist - frequently - up to 75% of the time

    Balance - occasionally - up to 20%

    Climbing - rarely - less than 10% (use of forklift highly encouraged)

**Pushing - frequently - up to 80%

**Pulling - frequently - up to 80%

**Reaching - frequently - up to 85%

   Coordination - this job requires both upper and lower extremity coordination

**Endure working in a cold environment and experience temperature changes

Qualifications Required of this Position:

 

Licensed forklift operator with a minimum of six months of safe operation of material handling equipment.  Able to perform accurate visual inspections and repeatedly lift up to 65 pounds.   Possess reading and basic math skills.  Physically capable of standing, walking, climbing and twisting while carrying 65 pound objects.
